  Featured Player Bill Wilhelm

Bill, a native of Illinois, and his wife have been in Nevada County for 31 years. He is a retired police officer and was also a structural engineer at one time. He has one son who lives in the Los Angeles area.

Bet you'd be surprised to hear that Bill's favorite hobby is music! He also enjoys taking off with his wife in their Air Stream travel trailer whenever they can fit it in to their busy schedule. His favorite instrument is the guitar followed by the resonator guitar (dobro). When it comes to a favorite group he prefers "Lost Highway". His favorite singer is Ken Orrick.

Bill shared with me that he has in excess of one million miles on a motorcycle that have been documented. I can tell you that from my few years of riding that I never came close to that many miles. That is quite an accomplishment!

When asked about something that would surprise us, he said that he has authored two books. We'll have to ask him more details about what types of books the next time we meet.

His musical goal is to keep improving on his music. He does such a nice job when he plays that I don't believe there is much more room for improvement.

Bill always adds another dimension to our music when he joins us and we all wish he wasn't so busy and could spend more time with us.

Thanks Bill for being a part of Thursday Night Music.
